LensFree develops 3D Imaging Systems

Founding Year: 2017
Location: Ra’anana, Israel
Partner for Medical Imaging Systems

Israeli startup LensFree develops low radiation imaging systems. It works on an acquisition technology based on time and spatial multiplexing. The startup’s system ionizes radiation, enabling X-rays to be imaged rather than projected. Further, the startup develops algorithms that improve image quality parameters such as signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), and image resolution. The use of spatial multiplexing adds more data in each image layer to be constructed. This facilitates the algorithms to develop enhanced 3D images, thereby creating detailed pictures for fluoroscopy and computed tomography (CT).

Solstice Pharmaceuticals advances Ultrasound Solutions

Founding Year: 2020
Location: Enschede, Netherlands
Partner for Ultrasound Diagnostics

Dutch startup Solstice Pharmaceuticals makes diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound products. It develops an intravenous ultrasound contrast agent, Harmono-T, comprising uniform microbubbles. The size of microbubbles determines the resonance. Further, the startup also provides an Activation Station for Harmono-T. The Activation Station deploys microfluidic technology to control the size uniformity of microbubbles. Uniform microbubbles also result in improved contrast enhancement during an ultrasound examination. Finally, the solution offers improved contrast as well as the sensitivity and specificity of ultrasound diagnostics.

Solenic Medical builds Disinfection Devices

Founding Year: 2019
Location: College Station, TX, USA
Funding: USD 2,2 M
Partner for Non-Invasive Metallic Implants

US-based startup Solenic Medical develops a medical device to treat infected metallic implants in the body. The device uses alternating magnetic fields (AMF) to eradicate the biofilm on the surface of medical implants. AMF technology enables high temperatures on the implants’ surface to thermally disinfect bacteria. This facilitates the treatment of prosthetic joint infections (PJIs) in a non-invasive way. It also addresses surgical complications due to plates and rods and eliminates the need for surgery.

Avyantra offers IoT-enabled Dialysis

Founding Year: 2017
Location: Hyderabad, India
Funding: USD 100 000
Partner for Tackling Neonatal Sepsis

Indian startup Avyantra offers connected devices for diagnosis and treatment. The startup develops an IoT-enabled automated device, Periton Safe, for peritoneal dialysis. It monitors patients’ performance parameters at home, thus reducing the need for frequent hospital visits. Further, the startup provides a machine learning platform, PreSco (Predictive Scoring Application), for an early diagnosis of neonatal sepsis in babies. This enables informed decision-making for antibiotics.

Nexkin Medical provides an Allergy Testing Device

Founding Year: 2016
Location: San Sebastian, Spain
Funding: USD 57 400
Partner for Allergology

Spanish startup Nexkin Medical develops a medical device, Nexkin DSPT, that automates the skin prick allergy test. Nexkin DSPT accelerates test reading and reduces manual tasks. It enables laboratories and hospitals to store information in a digital format. This reduces physical contact with patients and improves hygiene. Further, it facilitates statistical study and follow-up of allergies.
