Ecodew facilitates Effluent Waste Treatment

Effluents are a toxic by-product of manufacturing processes and have a high impact on the environment. Beyond that, the materials affect the health of animals, fish, and humans, either directly or through biomagnification. In certain industries, typical processes of treatment are ineffective due to the high toxicity of the substances. For these reasons, startups develop effluent treatment processes that render effluents chemically inert and safe for disposal.

Indian startup Ecodew provides effluent treatment solutions. The startup’s solution, AOX, uses specialty chemical radicals to treat high chemical oxygen demand (COD) effluents. AOX currently targets waste treatment for the pharma, paint, and paper industries. In these industries, normal bacterial processes are not viable for effluents. Fermento is another technology that treats effluents that are high in sugar content. It combines a high rate fermentor and a mechanical vapor compression system that converts the effluent into usable products like ethanol and natural fertilizers.

Chemishield offers a Waste Management Software

Industrial waste broadly falls into solid and liquid waste. Within these categories, there is also the division of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. It is crucial to ensure that each type of waste follows the strict process of disposal. In particular, hazardous wastes require special methods of treatment. Human errors lead to the mixing of hazardous wastes with other wastes, leading to environmental degradation. To avoid this, startups develop waste management systems that minimize the mix-up of waste streams.

Irish startup Chemishield develops its eponymous environmental health and safety (EHS) waste management software. Chemishield is a cloud-based waste management software that identifies the correct waste stream to dispose of solid and liquid waste. The software has a built-in two-step verification process that reduces human error. It also offers built-in Classification, Labeling, and Packaging (CLP) regulation-compliant labeling and end-to-end reporting across the entire waste life cycle. This provides real-time analysis of waste streams and directions on disposal for manufacturing companies.

Capital Waste Services provides Industrial Waste Pick-Up Services

Owing to the hazardous nature of the substance, industrial waste requires separate efforts for disposal. The waste originates from chemical, biotechnological, textile, and other industries. These effluents require both recycling and specific disposal. To this end, startups develop customizable industrial waste disposal solutions.

Capital Waste Services is a US-based startup that offers solutions for industrial waste management. The startup provides waste pick-up, dumpster container rentals, and recycling services for industrial and commercial waste management as well as residential waste pickup. This includes pickup services and roll-off containers that transport the waste to facilitation locations. Additionally, the startup provides custom vehicles for special disposal requests.

terrapure implements Waste Treatment and Recovery

Categorization and segregation of manufacturing waste are essential in implementing a circular economy. For example, utilizing proper methods of waste recovery allow metals, plastics, and other materials to re-enter the resource economy. Because of this potential recalibration of materials, startups develop waste recovery solutions. These solutions cater to specific avenues of industrial waste management, considering both hazardous and non-hazardous materials.

Canadian startup terrapure provides waste treatment and recovery solutions. The startup collects, consolidates, and processes hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste. terrapure then maximizes the recovery of reusable products while reducing the volume of waste that requires disposal. Further, it manages any remaining residual materials through safe, secure disposal methods. The startup also provides paint recycling, corrosive liquid neutralization, fuel processing, and hydro-vac waste processing solutions, among others.

QM Recycled Energy enables Plastic Waste-to-Energy Conversion

Manufacturing waste consists of overprocessing, defect, and overproduction wastes. Although they are generated due to oversight on the manufacturing process, they also arise out of natural inefficiencies in processes. These material wastes require proper redirection to minimize landfill waste. To facilitate this, startups develop waste-to-energy solutions to garner resources from these wastes. For example, pyrolysis of waste provides energy for later use.

QM Recycled Energy is a UK-based startup that develops waste redirection solutions. The startup introduces plastic waste recycling at an earlier stage when manufacturers dispose of plastic waste, instead of collecting plastic waste after goods enter the consumer arena. The Biofabrik WASTX Plastic P-5000 machine unit converts up to 5000 kgs of plastic waste into 5000 liters of oil per day. In addition, the machine is automated and compact as well as facilitates on-site energy storage.
