Spectronn builds an Edge Computing Wireless Networking Software

The large volume of mobile and the Internet of Things (IoT) devices in communication networks cause severe wireless interference and network congestion. As a result, the quality of experience (QoE) for mission-critical communications, like public safety, is less than satisfactory. To address this, startups utilize advancements in computational algorithms, machine learning, and edge-based services. This allows them to decentralize communication infrastructure and provide a reliable user experience.

Spectronn is a US-based startup building AI-based mobile edge computing (MEC) solutions. The startup’s Public Safety Communication infrastructure offers resilient communications and edge computing for a connected environment by mitigating radio interference and backhaul congestion. The wireless access platform optimizes networks in real-time, based on the application, user, cost, and security in real-time. The startup further offers WiFI in buses and planes, home wireless broadbands, and drone video analytics using the same patent-pending software.

Xelera Technologies provides an Accelerated Computing Platform

Data centers are critical for the delivery of shared applications and data. Apart from the delegated control while outsourcing data center operations, service providers also have to deal with higher latency and bandwidth consumption during peak times. Edge computing at the operator end overcomes this issue by bringing computation closer to the end-user. This is why startups are developing innovative edge computing platforms, offering a more adaptable system for operators to improve their productivity.

German startup Xelera Technologies develops a platform to speed up computing. Xelera Suite is a hardware-agnostic, on-demand scalable, and easy to deploy platform. It provides high-level software integrations on existing systems and serverless support to process large data volumes for real-time telecom decisions. Xelera’s products allow high data processing rates and reduce data center power consumption in the network, further reducing operational costs.

Neutroon creates Private 5G Networks

Large-scale connected environments like automotive manufacturing plants or construction sites demand high processing capabilities within a private network setup. With advancements in cloud and edge computing, startups are now able to bring cloud computing on-premise, saving costs and improving performance. 5G radio provides extended throughput to accommodate all the end devices in the private network. This allows organizations to host private 5G networks to ensure a secure communication system without spending a large amount.

Spanish startup Neutroon provides an eponymous Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) platform with multi-vendor management and orchestration. It minimizes interference and the risk of congestion and couples with on-premise edge computing to power low latency applications, such as mixed reality and autonomous robots. Neutroon provides a subscriber identity module (SIM)-level physical authentication to ensure security in private networks. The startup’s solution offers a low-cost edge-computing on-premise solution, improving operational efficiency and QoE.

ZephyrTel develops a Network Optimization Platform

While affordable 4G services improve user accessibility, the sudden surge in the number of users is disrupting the communication network, delivering poor QoE. Edge computing offers novel approaches to enhance network performance in real-time, without modifying the established infrastructure. That is why startups are developing edge-based computing solutions for network optimization, reducing congestion, and improving the user’s QoE.

US-based startup ZephyrTel provides end-to-end public cloud solutions for network optimization. Vasona’s SmartAIR, the startup’s network optimization platform, links the radio access network (RAN) & core network and reacts to end-user network demands and QoE threats. Further, the SmartVISION analytics software suite provides real-time and historical insights into the data service performance of network operation centers. The Vasona Platform also offers video shaping features to control the bitrate of video sessions and make the network available for critical communication. The startup’s solutions reduce network congestion and aid data-driven decision-making, enabling telecom operators to provide an optimal customer experience.

RunEL builds a 5G Radio Access Network Platform

Apart from providing an enhanced QoE to the users, edge computing allows telecommunication operators to further monetize their services. For example, integrating edge computing into communication networks enables service providers to offer dedicated edge hosting for content delivery networks, distributed cloud stacks, and more. Startups develop edge-based network development platforms to integrate edge-computing into the communication infrastructure. Since edge computing ensures a low latency infrastructure, it is also viable for a range of other solutions, like virtual reality (VR) for live sports.

Israeli startup RunEL develops a distributed 5G radio access network platform. Sparq2020P, the startup platform, is based on forward-compatible architecture targeting in-door and out-door coverage. It is also compatible with ITU IMT-2020 and 3GPP standards, providing high throughput and low latency periods for mass connectivity. It also provides computing and virtualization at the software-defined base station and up to the core network, enabling edge computing capabilities for the end-users. The startup’s solution ensures a reliable communication system with high processing power and energy-efficient wireless algorithms, enabling telecom operators to leverage their services.
