JobData Services – Recruiting
Over the years, the structure of the workplace has evolved with technological advancements such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data. Additionally, organizations increasingly feel the need for effective management of human resources (HR). Startups develop Data-as-a-Service solutions to enable companies in various industries including manufacturing, pharma, and construction, to hire the right candidates.
Irish startup JobData Services provides DaaS for recruitment. Using automated web crawlers, the startup mines for data on online job postings to create ready-to-use structured datasets for job site providers. JobData Services offers access to job postings from startups to the Fortune 500 companies for a monthly subscription.
Infinian – Financial Services
The global financial services industry, including banking, insurance, mortgage, Forex, stocks, and many other services, is thriving due to the positive impact of digital innovation and process automation. Advancements in AI and machine learning (ML) further allow organizations to analyze millions of data points in a matter of seconds. Startups develop DaaS-based solutions to enable better decision-making for companies in the industry.
British startup Infinian builds ReconnectU, the startup’s customer contact database, to help financial companies with collections and tracing. 4Sight, another product from Infinian, collates online credit risk information to optimize decisions and create value. Additionally, the startup offers other DaaS products to improve affordability assessments and identify suspicious transactions.
Kleos – Geospatial Datasets
Many industries such as automotive, construction, mining, telecom, and agriculture use geospatial datasets. These include data from global positioning systems (GPS), satellite imagery, telematics, and geotagged datasets. With the help of AI, ML, and deep learning algorithms, startups enable organizations to increase their efficiency, productivity, and decision-making capabilities using these datasets.
Kleos, a startup based out of Luxemburg, utilizes geospatial data as an input for delivering activity-based intelligence (ABI) tipping and cueing. The startup provides access to maritime situational awareness, geolocated radio frequency (RF) information, and commercial routing requirements. This helps maritime logistics companies and other geointelligence agencies improve the efficiency of their operations.
AKROCEAN – Ocean Data-as-a-Service
Oceans cover almost three-fourths of the Earth’s surface and generate vast amounts of useful data points. Weather, atmospheric conditions, ocean topography, salinity, tidal, and seismic data all provide insights for marine conservation and off-shore wind farm, for example. Advanced Internet of Things (IoT) sensors enable the effective collection of data for cost-effective use by maritime logistics companies. To collect and use ocean data, startups are developing innovative, lightweight, and durable solutions.
French startup AKROCEAN manufactures off-shore wind measurement devices. Windsea incorporates Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) to collect wind speed data in off-shore wind farms. The startup’s turnkey solution, Seaobs, is a complete environmental observatory that uses aerial and subsea sensors to collect meteorological and biological data.
Bridged – AI Training Data
Datasets generally form the foundation for any artificial intelligence or machine learning program. Many companies struggle with poor datasets, due to the fact that they don’t have the required capabilities to exhaustively collect data. Startups offer ready-to-use training datasets to help various industries make data-driven decisions and build better products.
The US-based startup Bridged creates customizable training datasets for content generation, categorization, and image/video tagging. Training data for chatbots and virtual assistants, for example, enable organizations to simplify customer service and analyze customer reviews better. The startup also tags, classifies, and categorizes unstructured text for natural language processing (NLP) systems to better utilize the data.
