SeeYA Technology manufactures Organic Light-emitting Diodes (OLED)

Founding Year: 2016
Location: Hefei, Anhui, China
Funding: CNY 800 M
Reach out for Microdisplay Modules

Chinese startup SeeYA Technology manufactures OLED on silicon (OLEDoS) for microdisplays. The startup’s semiconductor OLEDoS uses silicon wafers instead of glass, plastic, or amorphous silicon substrates, enabling high pixel density per inch (PPI) in microdisplays. OLEDoS display architecture enables high brightness, contrast ratio, and refresh rates at low power consumption in near-to-eye display applications. The startup manufactures microdisplay components for use in head-mounted displays, electronic viewfinders (EVF), and augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) glasses.

Nanolumi produces Color Enhancement Films

Founding Year: 2018
Location: Singapore
Partner with Nanolumi for Light-Emitting Materials

Singaporean startup Nanolumi produces perovskite light-emitting materials to enhance the color range of displays in devices such as smartphones, laptops, and watches. Chameleon G, the startup’s perovskite color enhancement film, works with various display architectures. These include liquid crystal displays (LCDs), mini light-emitting diode (MiniLED), and organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) displays. The startup’s solution provides a high color saturation, and low cost and efficient alternative to quantum dots for electronic display manufacturers.

Porotech advances MicroLED Displays

Founding Year: 2017
Location: Cambridge, UK
Funding: USD 6,1 M
Innovate with Porotech for Gallium Nitride-based Electronics

British startup Porotech develops porous gallium-nitride (GaN) technology that empowers the micro light-emitting diode (Micro-LED) display technology. The startup’s microLED display utilizes a red indium gallium nitride (InGaN) epitaxial wafer that improves the viewing experience in augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR) glasses. Compared to aluminum indium gallium phosphide, Porotech’s InGaN semiconductor wafer exhibits brighter and sharper displays in comparatively smaller sizes. The startup’s GaN technology enables the development of efficient micro-LED displays, especially for smaller devices such as AR glasses and other near-eye wearables and consumer electronics.

Polaris PowerLED builds Advanced LED Displays

Founding Year: 2018
Location: Dana Point, US
Collaborate for Energy-efficient LED Displays

US-based startup Polaris PowerLED produces advanced energy-efficient LED displays. The startup’s LED technologies reduce the power consumed by LED displays used in smartphones and mobile devices which leads to increased efficiency in the device’s battery life. Its displays feature ambient light sensors that auto-adjust brightness levels. Moreover, it enhances the life spans of the LED screens with optical and temperature control. The startup uses its patented technologies to manufacture its own displays as well as supplies to other electronic device manufacturers.

Arctic Displays develops Electronic Ink Displays

Founding Year: 2021
Location: Moscow, Russia
Funding: RUB 1,6 M
Partner to build Digital Signages

Russian startup Arctic Displays develops electronic ink display hardware for signages and bulletin boards. The startup’s display devices feature a high-contrast, low-power, slim aluminum frame and an electronic ink screen for displaying information without a power source. These display devices use IoT sensors and GSM modules to manage content in real-time, track device status and add more screens to the network. The startup’s e-paper displays find use as public transport signage, information boards in smart factories, corporate offices, and banks.
