Which startups develop the other 73 solutions?

Swarm Engineering – Process Optimization

Swarm intelligence refers to a set of nature-inspired solutions in artificial intelligence that mimic the decision making of swarms. These solutions combine inputs from a large number of decentralized and self-organized agents. By offering speed, robustness, and scalability, swarm intelligence algorithms find optimization and routing applications in different industries, such as telecom and Industry 4.0.

Swarm Engineering is a US-based startup that uses swarm intelligence for process optimization without relying on cloud-based control. The startup’s machine learning algorithms to solve combinatorial problems, such as load, demand, or production planning. SWARM optimizes each function independently and later connects them into a holistic solution. For load planning, it uses multi-vehicle routing algorithms that work within time and capacity constraints.

Cubbit – Cloud Storage

Swarm intelligence facilitates dynamic interactions between different devices or systems across a shared infrastructure. This encourages its use in applications for the internet of things (IoT), such as interconnected cars or machinery and distributed computing. The intelligence, and thereby the performance, of the swarm, is often much higher than the sum of individual parts.

Italian startup Cubbit develops a distributed technology for cloud storage. The startup’s solution uses swarm intelligence to deliver speed and privacy, with each Cubbit Cell acting like a node in a swarm. The peer-to-peer (P2P) network of Cubbit Cells enables a highly secure, sustainable, and collaborative cloud storage. Moreover, the maintenance of these systems costs significantly lesser compared to traditional data centers.

Brainalyzed – Financial Forecasting

Startups are working on swarm optimization solutions that combine human intelligence and AI to predict events. Swarm intelligence amplifies the accuracy of individual predictions, enabling better estimates for business decisions. Swarm intelligence further helps retailers and investors improve their forecasts on sales and market movements, respectively.

Brainalyzed is a German startup that offers an enterprise AI platform for swarm intelligence. For fintech customers, the solution enables scaling profits and predicting market movements. The startup’s platform combines artificial swarm intelligence with data analytics to improve decision making. The solution also detects anomalies in a range of industries, including manufacturing, energy, and telecommunication.

AGILOX – Intralogistics

Warehouses use drones and guided vehicles to automate a lot of the operations such as sorting, pick and place, packing. Swarm intelligence eliminates the need for a central operator while improving communication between the automated vehicles. The real-time information exchange makes intralogistics faster and more efficient.

Austrian startup AGILOX uses swarm intelligence to develop automated guided vehicles (AGVs). The intelligent logistics vehicles communicate with each other without an external control system. The solution enables dynamic order distribution and context-specific redistribution to maximize efficiency. AGILOX’s vehicles also automatically retool themselves to serve different purposes.

Reach Labs – Long-Range Wireless

With the growth of IoT, smart devices connected over wireless networks are also on the rise. Often, devices in the same local network use different technologies and architectures to perform a single goal. Swarm intelligence algorithms optimize such the flow of information in such networks and make them more robust.

Reach Labs is a US-based startup that is working on solutions for long-range wireless. The startup’s proprietary algorithms identify optimal pathways for power delivery to multiple devices at once. The startup offers a swarm intelligence solution for large, power-intensive instruments. This solution also serves applications that use swarms of autonomous vehicles, drones, or industrial robots.
